BOKAJAN, May 19: Bokajan police today seized 1.7 kg of drugs from a six-wheeler truck.
The drugs were seized after the police received secret information and a check post was set up by SDPO Bokajan assisted by OC Bokolia PS at Bokolia bypass under the supervision of SP Karbi Anglong.
The police recovered 136 soap cases of heroin from a six-wheeler truck without a registration number. Two persons have been arrested in this regard – they are Jalal Uddin (42), S/O- Lt. Abdul Wahab of ⁸⁷, Cachar and Kahar Ahmed (20), S/O- Ikram Uddin, of Mirsapur, Karimganj.
Police informed that the market value of the seized drugs would be around Rs. 8 Crores.
