25 families from Mahamaya Constituency join BJP

DONGMUKAK, May 15: Altogether 25 families from Jungthung Polling station under Mahamaya Constituency’s Chehon Rongpi and Pikhat Rongpi villages had deserted their respective political parties and joined the BJP. These families embraced the saffron party today during the mandal committee meeting of the BJP held at Mahamaya BJP office.

The new members to the BJP were from APHLC, ASDC and the Congress. Expressing their happiness to be a part of the party in govt, the new members said that they are impressed with the way the BJP led KAAC under the initiative of CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang is working for rapid development in Karbi Anglong. They also praised local MAC as well as EM Lunsing Teron for his focus of developing the rural areas of the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, EM Lunsing Teron said that BJP does not make differentiation between new and old members, all are equal and everyone must work hand in hand for the party. He further assured that within a few weeks, development works will begin in the two villages where people have accepted his party. He will begin with ring wells to solve drinking water problems.

The meeting was also attended by Mahamaya BJP mandal committee president Purno Engti, VDC Chairman Rajesh Teron, Dokmoka municipal board chairman Prahalad Timung and many other party workers.
