AMRI, Sept 18: Three minor girls drowned while taking a bath in the local pond on Sunday around 3pm in the evening.
The incident took place at Putsari under Ulukunchi police out post in West Karbi Anglong.
The deceased were identified as Angelica Terangpi and Sharonika Terangpi (twins) d/o Bontina Ronghangpi and Mindar Terang. while another girl was identified as Adorsonei Teronpi D/o Samuel Songja Teron and Sinali Kramsapi.
All of them belonged to Putsari village.
Their lifeless bodies were discovered floating on the pond by villagers later.
Local MAC and EM Uphing Maslai paid a condolence visit at their residence and offered a heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family of the deceased.
