DIPHU/DONGMUKAK, Apr 30: The 31st annual conference of the Karbi Lammet Amei (KLA) concluded today with a public meeting in the afternoon which was attended by KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang as the chief guest. The meeting was chaired by KLA president Barim Ingti and attended by MP Horensing Bey, MLA Bidyasing Engleng, EM Lunsing Teron, EM Amarsing Tisso and several other dignitaries.
KLA felicitated CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang for being awarded the “Academician of the Year Award 2023” by the Shriram Global School, Gurugram, Haryana.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEM appealed for collective efforts to develop and promote Karbi language. People must keep aside all differences based on religion and political affiliations and focus on the efforts to enrich Karbi literature.
A cultural procession was conducted to welcome KLA president Barim Ingti. The procession which began from Dongmukak Market to Rasinja Aklam was taken part by KLA members and cultural teams from the locality.
In the evening, the KLA flag was hoisted on the second day was pulled down, marking the official end of the conference. A cultural night was also held in the evening.
It may be mentioned here that in the delegates’ session held on day-2, it was formally decided that the 32nd annual conference of KLA will be held at Rongthelu, Manja under Borjan MAC constituency.
