DILLAI, Aug 28: The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Dillai Head Branch celebrated its 43rd foundation day at Dillai Joseph Terang Memorial Hall, in Dillai here today. Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council EM and local MAC Surjya Rongphar graced the event as chief guest.
The celebration programme commenced with hoisting of the flag at 9 am followed by tribute to departed leaders and members of the organisation.
The main celebration cum felicitation programme began at 11 am and was chaired by Dillai KSA unit president Wysong Terang. Guest comprising of KAAC EM Surjya Rongphar, as chief guest, who was accompanied by ex-KAAC Speaker Longki Timung, Karbi Language Development Board chairman Nobin Terang, KSA CC vice president president Buddho Terang, KSA Bokajan Regional Committee president Lalsing Ingti, secretary Nobin Rongpi, SGB and several social workers of the area were also introduced and felicitated by the organiser led by unit secretary Brojen Hanse.
During the event, meritorious students who recently cleared HSLC, HSSLC and graduation were felicitated for their hard work and for encouraging students towards education. The students were felicitated with Karbi Poho and certificate in recognition of their respective academic milestones.
Speaking at the event, EM Rongphar congratulated the successful students and further urged upon them to continue pursuing their studies with greater vigour and commitment towards achieving their academic goals.
