BOKAJAN, Apr 01: In a joint operation, the police and C-20 CRPF led by SDPO John Das APS, Bokajan OC Mwblick Brama and Khatkhati OC Romen Bordoloi seized 576 grams of heroin at the railway crossing in Khatkhati and apprehended one person in this connection on Saturday noon.
The apprehended person has been identified as Kiyeka Ayemi (34) s/o Vikheta Ayemi of Burma camp, Dimapur.
According to sources, a checkpoint was set up at Khatkhati railway crossing upon receiving secret inputs where the drug recovered from his possession which was concealed inside 47 plastic soap cases.
The consignment was brought from Dimapur toward Karbi Anglong. Legal action has been initiated on the matter.
