HAFLONG, Mar 30: A man had been arrested for allegedly immolating his wife along with the house at Miyungkro village under Harangajao police station in Dima Hasao district on Wednesday night.
On receiving information police team led by Harangajao O.C reached the spot and recovered the charred body. The body has been sent to Haflong civil hospital for autopsy. The woman was identified as Vinita Haflongbar (40) while the accused husband was identified Joycharan Langthasa.
Senior police officials said that the husband of Vinita has been arrested in connection with the incident and the police have launched a preliminary investigation into the matter. He also said that the accused admitted of burning the house after he find that his wife was dead and are waiting for the autopsy report to know about the cause of the dead.
Sources said that Late Haflongbar was bedridden for the past seven months and couldn’t speak.
