BOKAJAN, Apr 04: The Karbi Anglong district body of the Anti-Corruption Youth Power (ACYPA) had today submitted a memorandum to Bokajan SDO (Civil) Anup Kumar Brahma and appealed the Govt. of Assam to put a check on the rapid rise of prices of essential commodities in the state.
ACYPA Karbi Anglong branch president Chitra Baruah said that the economically weak people of Assam are facing big trouble to meet their daily expenses due to the hike in prices of various commodities in Assam. He charged the govt. of Assam over its inability to prevent the hike.
“Is the Govt. of Assam not aware of the price hike or they are intentionally doing it?,” questioned Baruah while lambasting the Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma-led govt. of its failure.
In their memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister, the ACYPA said that it the govt. does not do anything to bring down the prices of commodities, the organisation will organise stronger protests all over the state. They also said that if any untoward incident happen in the protest, the Chief Minister will have to take responsibility.
Karbi Anglong ACYPA secretary Sonsing Tisso, Samuel Tisso, Pankaj Deka and Dipen Mech were also present while submitting the memo.
