All illegal appointments to be terminated and fresh advt to be issued: CEM

Case to be filed against ex-PCCF

DIPHU, Apr 05: The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang asserted that all illegal appointments made under the forest department during the tenure of ex-PCCF Abhijit Rabha are void and fresh advertisement would be called to fill in the vacancies. This was stated while speaking with reporters at his official residence in Diphu here today.

While addressing reporters, the KAAC chief denied any contract scam pertaining to the widening of a 17-kilometre-long of Diphu-Dillai-Sarihujan Road from Birla to Rongplimplam asserting though that there may exists errors in official records. He further pointed out that road damages exists and could happen anywhere and underlined that repairs would be carried out where required. “Damages have even been seen along the four-lane roads which are still going on. The Diphu-Dillai-Sarihujan Road is completed and works have been completed and is visible to all the public,” The KAAC chief said.

He further stated that the Rs. 224 crore Diphu flyover project, which is under construction, is being executed without waiting for the estimation, administrative approval and work order and would be completed as per we have announced.  He underlined that many developmental works have to be executed to accelerate developmental work pace and might even be completed before work order is issued. He said such works which have been completed before getting official nod easily gets public scrutiny. He affirmed that some works have to be decided as per the practical conditions.

When being asked about the illegal appointment controversy, the KAAC chief stated all illegal appointments are void and therefore, fresh appointments would be called to fill up the vacancies. The KAAC chief asserted that since all appointments have been issued through ex-PCCF Abhijit Rabha and therefore, cases would be filed against him. Dr. Ronghang reminded that if found guilty, action would be taken against all officers and even EM. The KAAC chief informed that over 1,600 persons have been found to be illegally appointed under the tenure of Abhijit Rabha. “Order has been issued to initiate action on this matter,” he concluded.
