DIPHU, Mar 02: The Primary Education Department under KAAC today distributed appointment letters to 133 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualified teachers to improve the teaching-learning process of lower primary schools across Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. The ceremonial appointment letters distribution programme was held at the meeting hall of KAAC’s new secretariat building.
KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang while speaking on the occasion said that teachers have big responsibilities in shaping the future of the society, they are the builders of pillars of society. “If teachers show negligence in duty, the result will reflect in the students’ performance,” he said.
“As per the rules under National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), teachers neglecting their can be terminated from work,” he added.
According to the CEM, there are 447 more posts in lower primary schools which the KAAC is planning to fill-up within the next one year. The remaining TET qualified teachers of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong will be given appointment very soon, while advertisement for special TET has been published to get more numbers of eligible teachers.
Speaking on the illegal appointments under Forest Department, the CEM said that special inquiry has already been initiated to determine the actual numbers of fake appointments. All such persons who have been illegally appointed will be terminated and fresh applications will be called to fill-up the posts. Here, those persons who have got fake appointment will also be given chance to apply.
On the disparity of results and performance between government schools and private schools, the MP Horensing Bey pointed out that KAAC is doing all needful steps to improve the facilities in govt. schools to make them at par with the private ones. “Appointing more teachers is one of the measure being taken by KAAC to improve the condition of govt. LP Schools,” he said.
Apart from the newly appointed teachers coming to receive the appointment letters, MLA Bidyasing Engleng, MLA Darsing Ronghang, MLA Rupsing Teron, severak EMs, MACs, principal secretary Mukul Kr. Saikia, and several high ranking officials were present at the event.
