DILLAI, Apr 10: The Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) on Sunday afternoon held a meeting at Joseph Terang Memorial Hall, Dillai. It was chaired by Borjan mandal president Lokshon Teron. Among the visiting party leaders were former MLA Sum Ronghang, KADCC secretary Surendra Singnar, VP Roton Engti, VP Bidyasing Rongpi, VP Ashok Teron, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Gopal Chandra Sharma and others.
The meeting was held as part of the ongoing ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha’ in which the KADCC is visiting all its mandal committees to know about the issues and discuss ways to strengthen the party. During the KADCC’s visit to Borjan mandal committee, around 25 persons from the BJP joined the Congress.
Speaking in the occasion, KADCC vice president Roton Engti lambasted the BJP-led govt. for the false promises given to the people. He said that slogans and schemes of BJP like “Sab ka saath sab ka vikash”, “parivartan sarkar”, “Desh nahi jukhne dunga na bechne dunga”, and the promise to deposit Rs. 15 lakhs in the account of the public are all fake.
APCC spokesperson had also charged the BJP of breaking democracy in the country. He said that the constitution of India is not safe in the hands of BJP.
Several key points on how to come up strongly in the upcoming MP elections were discussed in the meeting.
