Karbi Anglong needs better coaching facilities for football; 23 AIFF licence holders must be engaged properly

DIPHU, Mar 10: With as many as 23 former footballers of the district having All India Football Federation (AIFF) licenses to give coaching to young footballers, Karbi Anglong can produce more numbers of excellent players for the state as well as the nation. Concerned citizens and sports enthusiasts have said that the Sports and Youth Welfare board under Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council as well as the Karbi Anglong Sports Association must come up with better plans in strategies to use the knowledge of the game that these coaches have.
Among the 23, only Dhaneswar Baglary and Sanjeeva Rongpi are ‘C’ Licence holders. Dhaneswar, son of Nagra Baglary and Rongali Baglary is a resident of Dhupguri under Langhin. He passed his AIFF licence exam in the year 2003, to become the first person in the district to do so. Sanjeeva Rongpi, son of Lt. Digendra Rongpi and Mina Engtipi of Rongtheang, Diphu passed the exam in the year 2016.
The other 21 persons who have obtained ‘D’ Licence from the AIFF are Horen Engti (2016), son of Kunjor Engti and Aita Rongpipi of Rongnihang Ward No. 3 Diphu, Sing Ronghang (2018), son of Lt. Chandrasing Ronghang and Lt. Basapi Beypi of Mizo Teron Gaon Phuloni, Rajen Rongpi alias Nigro (2018), son of Lt. Lokhesor Rongpi and Basapi Terangpi of Langtuk Rongpi village, Johan Engti (2018), son of Roben Engti and Basa Rongpipi of Wophong Teron village, Chokihola.
Baju Tisso (2016), son of Lt. Riso Tisso and Akdom Teronpi of Vomulangso (Salonijan), Dr Roton Sing Teron (2018), son of Lt. Dengja Sing Teron and Kareng Phangchopi of Rongpirbi Near Rongkimi Church, Roton Ingti (2019), son of Babu Ingti and Sika Kropi of Ikkoi Kro village Dokmoka, Rustom Engti (2022), son of Lt. Kangbura Engti and Basapi Singnarpi of Jor Teron Arong Shildharamur Dokmoka, Michael Teron (2019), son of Anthony Teron and Maloti Beypi of Lamhemphi.
Longki Rongpi (2022), son Lt. Hemari Rongpi and Kahan Senarpi of Langhan Terang Arong, Dongkamukam, Angtong Teron (2022), son of Moniram Teron and Phudang Killingpi of Near Klirdap School, Birla, Diphu, Sarlongki Tokbi (2018), son of Ramsing Tokbi and Harvi Terangpi of Kuligaon, Hemphuson Kathar (2016), son of Rasing Engti and Dipti Terangpi of Vothatlangso, Amar Sing Hanse (2016), son of Lt. Tenzing Kro (2018), son of Sarwan Kro and Kadom Phangchopi of Longhup Tisso, Chokihola, Khonsim Rongpi (2016), son of Lt. Ujjal Rongpi and Kaphir Teronpi of Rongjangphong, Thanginmang Chongloi (2016), son of P. Chongloi of Manja Karbi-Anglong, T Thangkhenzam (2023), son of T Hauzalian and Mangngaihching of Rongchingthur, Diphu, Alongba Swargiary (2018), son of Mohan Swargiary and Romila Swargiary of Samaguri Langhin and Dr Laldinsang Pudaite (2018), son of Dr Rosiem Pudaite and Lallawmkim Pudaite of Timung Residential Complex, Diphu.
KASA as well as the KAAC can take up steps to utilise these persons to train more youngsters in developing their footballing talents.
