Residents of 15 villages express gratitude to CM for proposed ‘Asom Mala’ road

HAMREN, Apr 27: Residents of 15 villages inside West Karbi Anglong district have expressed gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for the ‘Asom Mala’ road connecting their village to district headquarter and beyond.
Expressing extreme delight over the project, the residents of these villages said that the proposed road will passes through Tumpreng via Somupong will end their lifelong connectivity woes and expressed hope that when completed, the road would become the major part of their life and progress. The villagers said that it would be one of the biggest gift for the people of these areas including Mulokbong, Linchika, and Somupong
Further, residents of the village said that this would not have been possible without the support and vision of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang. The villagers also claimed that they have also received compensation which has immensely benefited them enabling them to build house to live and money for their children’s education.
Sarkari Borgaonbura (SGB), village headmen, youths and other residents of these villages have called upon individuals and groups to refrain from halting road works related to construction of the ‘Asom Mala’ road in the greater interest and welfare of the area and beyond.
