DOLAMARA, Apr 28: In order to revive the defunct weaving training centre and to know more about the grievances faced by the local weavers of the area, EM Madhuram Lekthe visited Kekang-Adong Handloom and Textile Training centre inside Duarbagori constituency on Friday.
During his maiden visit, he was accompanied by VDC chairman Sarkoi Rongphar, Dolamara Municipal Board chairman Mongolsing Terang and some BJP party workers. EM Lekthe stated that he was disappointed over the poor infrastructure and the employees of the weaving centre for failing to keep it functional. He also assured that a new training centre will be set up and an interview will be called for the post of Night chowkidar which has been lying vacant. EM Lekthe also assured the local weavers that weaving items like loom,thread, spinning wheel etc will be provided at the centre.
When asked about the absence of the demonstrator and instructor from duty, he replied that strict action will be taken against them.
