DILLAI, Apr 29: With the aim of providing farmers and villagers access to information on government schemes, Cluster Information Centre (CIC-II) of Dillai Fish Farmers Producer Company Ltd. was inaugurated in Dillai today.
The office of the Dillai Fish Farmers Producer Company Ltd. was today inaugurated at Monsing Teron village in Dillai by Diphu KVK head S. Maibangsa, NABARD-Karbi Anglong DDM K. Vaiphei, SBI Diphu LDM Novin Basumutary, KAAC Fishery Department officer Larleen Katharpi, Kalong Kapili NGO Director Jyotish Talukdar and others.
Speaking on the inauguration event, the department officials informed that there are several government schemes therefore, farmers and villagers to avail those benefits. Further, the speakers urged upon the people of the area for self reliance and take advantage of any schemes that government has launched.
While speaking to TDE, Dillai Fish Farmers Producer Company Ltd secretary Rupsing Bey informed that there are a lot of fisheries in Dillai yet people have not been able to make full utilisation and production of fishes are extremely negligible. He said that training have been provided by Kalong Kapili, GIZ India and NABARD and there is a need for greater push from the KAAC Fishery Department to help villagers and farmers to benefit from aquaculture to change their life and strengthen local economy.
