PHELANGPI, Apr 03: Adding to the tally of the case of attacks of elephants on village, wild jumbos flattened a house at No-2 Rikangmihom Rongphar village falling under the Kheroni Range Forest range inside the West Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday night.
According to the affected ⁴family, the incident took place at around 11:30 pm when a wild elephant entered the village and flattened the house belonging to one Sarpo Teron. While speaking to TDE, Teron informed that the wild elephant not only damaged the house but also their cooking utensils and two sacks containing rice were also consumed.
Meanwhile, the affected family members have called upon the concerned department and Council authority for immediate relief and assistance in time of their humanitarian crisis.
