BOKAJAN, Mar 14: The Assam Jatiyabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) today burned the effigies of Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu and SEBA chairman Ramesh Chandra Jain during a protest demonstration in Bokajan town. The protest was held to condemn the HSLC question paper leak scam which has hampered the minds of lakhs of students across the state.
The protest was led by AJYCP Karbi Anglong District Committee and joined by central executive member Jitu Phukon. It was held at 10:30 AM at the organisation’s own office near Bokajan CCI.
AJYCP said that the leak paper issue had shown the inefficiency of the state education minister as well as the chairman of SEBA. Demands for the removal of the duo had been raised by organisation. They also demanded an immediate and special inquiry into the matter.
It may be mentioned that the HSLC 2023 examination for the General Science subject which was scheduled for March 13 had to be rescheduled as the question paper was found circulating in social media. This incident not only burdened the examination centres with additional headache, but it has also destroyed the momentum of preparation among students.
