TUMPRENG May 08: The Karbi Students’ Association conducted an Anti Drug Awareness Campaign at Satgaon, West Karbi Anglong District oñ Monday.
The event was initiated by the KSA Satgaon branch committee President Longbir Enghi, secretary Bapuram Ingti and members. KSA Central Committee Secretary Ajoy Rongchehon and KSA, West Karbi Anglong District Secretary Birsing Kro attended the awareness campaign.
The event marked its beginning with a peaceful rally where hundreds of students queued in line chanting “Say no to Drugs, KSA Long live”.
West Karbi Anglong District secretary Birsing Kro while speaking to the media informed that, the consumption of drugs and intoxicants among the youths is alarmingly increasing day after day, and that parents must look after their children well. “For the well being of one’s children, parents have a huge responsibilities toward them. Any underage youth caught red handed with drugs, alcohol or any intoxicant substances, would be severely punished,” the students leaders said.
KSA Central Committee Secretary Ajoy Rongchehon stated that, due to the alarming rate of youngsters indulging in drugs related matters within the district, KSA is committed to spreading an Anti Drugs Awareness Campaign across the district.
