DONGKAMUKAM, Apr 09: State President of Schedule Tribe (ST) morcha Shivnath Brahma while attending as chief guest during the 3rd ST Morcha district executive meet said that the works performed by the BJP towards tribal development in the North East was satisfactory.
“From opening of schools in tribal areas to language development, Cultural development, jobs, roads and providing drinking water etc, the government has done tremendous development works in tribal areas. Therefore, let us prepare from now onwards so that the BJP will garner more votes in the upcoming MP election”, he said.
The meeting on Tuesday was held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, Ghilani, which is the district’s head office of West Karbi Anglong.
During the meeting Brahma further asked the ST morcha leaders to speed up the activities hand in hand as done by the parent BJP Party.
He also stated that the party will organise indegenious games/ tribal games in the state level somewhere in Guwahati in the near future.
He also asked the social media in-charge to share about the BJP’s developmental activities to the public.
State ST morcha Treasurer Longsing Tokbi, the prabhari of West Karbi Anglong stated that no ‘Bongo Sena’ exist in Karbi Anglong and West KAnglong.
“We have not seen any activities of Bongo Sena here and it is mere mispropaganda of APHLC to create a vote bank in ST areas and nothing else”, he continued.
He finally urged the grassroot workers to work collectively so that BJP will come out successful in the forthcoming MP election.
The meeting was presided over by President District ST morcha Romen Pator and attended by State member Dipen Ronghang (Treasurer), Chairman Veterinary Dev Board Ditolal Hasnu, Chairman PHE dev Board Juwel Tokbi, nine ST mandal presidents and others.
