BIRSINGKI, May 09: Huge numbers of local residents who have been appalled by the Gunotsav report have expressed their deep disappointment over the West Karbi Anglong Assistant School Inspector with severe allegation of remaining absent for most of the time. Locals charged that his habitual absence is not only affecting the office but the entire education and playing with future of the students.

According to locals, the ASI identified as Nayan Pathak is posted in WKA but have been found to be perpetually staying in Diphu for longer period and seemingly without no official purpose due to which the office is affected. “He is expected to stay at his posted place and to visit schools and assess the progress, teachers and functioning of the school but he seems to be staying in Diphu for most of the time,” locals alleged.

Meanwhile, Birsingki ME School officials have been expecting the proposed school upgrading report for the past three months but have been caught up due to the absence of ASI Nayan Pathak who was expected to submit its report sooner as the visit has already been completed.

Amri locals further expressed disappointment over the lackadaisical attitude of the education department and charged that West Karbi Anglong district would continue to suffer for more years as the Inspector of School authority, and schools are still riddled with problems created by individuals who are appointed to fix them.

Following this, locals have called upon the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang and education EM Richard Tokbi to take immediate action on the matter and save the future of the students.
