BOKAJAN, May 11: A head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Wednesday resulted in the dead of one person, while several others were also injured. The accident happened at around 4 pm in the evening at Garampani NH-39, under Borpathar police station.
According to onlookers, both the vehicles were moving at a high speed and when they came on a curved portion of the road, the drivers lost control. The collision was so strong that the bus driver died on the spot, and many passengers suffered injuries.
The bus coming from Golaghat had the registration number AS-03-BC-4707, while the truck coming from the opposite direction had the number AS-05-AC-1160. The bus driver who died on the spot was identified Babul Ali of Rangajan. Borpathar police rushed to the spot and seized both the vehicles. They also sent the injured persons for treatment to the nearest health centre.
