BOKAJAN, May 14: The Greater Hanjanglangso Inter-Club Football Championship-2023 kick-started today with the opening match played between Waisong YC and Nihang Archim YC.
The tournament is being hosted by the Hanjanglangso Sports Association and all matches will be played at Hangjanglangso Sports Association playground. It is sponsored in memory of Lt. Lakhan Sing Rongphar, Lt. Sika Teronpi, Lt. Kongching Timung and Lt. Kanam Hansepi. Whereas the prizes for the champion will be given by the Rongphar family, the runners-up prizes will be sponsored by the Timung family.
The inauguration ceremony chaired by HSA president Jivon Ch. Pathak was attended as the chief guest by local MAC Kadom Terangpi, Sarupathar VDC chairman Silarson Rongpi, Borjan VDC chairman Sonaram Singnar, social workers Robbie Rongpi, Sonil Gogoi, Bokajan LAMPS chairman Sar-et Enghi, KASA Joint Secretary Langtuk Timung, Janasing Phangcho and others.
In the opening match of the tournament, Waisong YC defeated Nihang Archim Youth Club 5-2 to move ahead.
