DIPHU, Mar 16: Local resident identified as Ajoy Rongpi has clarified that the statement made against Karbi Anglong NC Hills (KANCH) Managing Director was false and alleged that the statement made before a state media channel was made as being told by a reporter. This was clarified by Rongpi at Manja.
According to Rongpi, he was called in by Ashok Gupta and was taken inside a car and taken to a road side near 7th Mile Shiv Mandir by Prag Channel reporter to capture a byte. “I made the statement according to what I was told by the reporter as I was in shock and panic,” Rongpi said. Further, Rongpi clarified that he has no idea about MD Dhansing Lekthe or about anything related with KANCH.
He tendered apology about the incident and stated that asserted that the statement made in the news byte was therefore false and void.
