DIPHU, May 22: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) today declared the results of HSLC 2023. It came as a surprise as the govt. announced the result time only this morning, while it was earlier said to be out on May 30.
A total of 301880 students passed the exam across the state, of which 142524 are boys and 159356 are girls, making a 72.69 passed percentage, as compared to last year’s 56.49. District wise Chirang topped the chart with 88.68%. Hridam Thakuria of Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Dhekiajuli got the first rank among the students, scoring 596 marks out of 600.
Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts have also recorded an improvement in the overall pass percentage. Karbi Anglong recorded 75.47 % a jump from last year’s 49.92 %, while West Karbi Anglong attained 66.33 %, a rise from the previous year’s 42.7 %. In the district-wise performance chart, Karbi Anglong is placed at 15th while West Karbi Anglong stands at 27th position.
In Karbi Anglong 10126 appeared in the exam, of which 1813 passed in the 1st Division, 4084 passed in 2nd Division and 1745 students passed in 3rd Division. For West Karbi Anglong, 4989 sat in the exam, out of which 729 passed in 1st Division, 1675 in 2nd Division, and 905 in 3rd Division.
The most notable thing is the performance of those schools which had zero pass percentage last year, they have all done fairly well this time. Deopani High School recorded 90%, Ok-Kereng High School 72%, Jaipong Adarsha High School 99%, Inglongkiri High School 100 %, Menmiji High School 34% and Diphu Night School recorded 100%.
Diphu Govt. Boys’ HS School HSLC center emerged as the best centre in the district with a 97.84 pass percentage, followed by Vivekananda Higher Secondary School, Bokajan with 97.34 %. There are many schools in the district that have recorded cent percent results.
With 96.67% Niraj Priyam Gogoi of Mt. Sinai English School, Dengaon bagged the first position in Karbi Anglong. He scored a total of 580 marks with 100 in Advanced Mathematics. He is the son of Jayanta Gogoi and Pallabi Gogoi. Meanwhile, with 96.17% marks, Asifa Armin of Howraghat Shankardev Shishu Niketan gained second position. She scored a total of 577 marks out of 600, with 100 marks in Social Science and Advance Mathematics. She is the daughter of Ashraf Uddin Ahmed and Rijuwana Sultana.
KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, EM I/c Education Richard Tokbi, and several others have taken to social media to congratulate the successful students and also express their joy over the praiseworthy performance of both districts.
