KOILAMATI, May 29: The residents of Panjan under Nilip Constituency along with Panjan Hirhiri branch Karbi Students Association (KSA) demanded a metalled road running between Sam Hanse and Poisa Ingti Village yesterday.
The locals addressed the inconvenience encountered by them during rainy season.
They also added that an interlocking road was constructed a couple of years back from four lane intersection point of Merabheti and extending only up to Sam Hanse village. Later the work was paused in between due to reasons best known to the contractor. Locals also mentioned that, the fact that MAC Pobitra Rongpi’s residence is close to the area gives them locals a ray of hope that construction of the road will be resumed sooner or later.
As such, the villagers and KSA Hirhiri branch of Panjan who include president Longkiri Terang, general secretary Robinson Teron, assistant general secretary Tirkim Kiling and Sundor Kiling appealed the KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang and MAC Pobitra Rongpi to take the matter into consideration and ensure that metalled road is constructed throughout the five villages including Sam Hanse, Sar-et Tisso, Sarbong Ingti, Ram Lekthe and Poisa Ingti at the earliest for the welfare of the vicinity.
