PHELANGPI, Jun 04: With the aim of helping marginal farmers of the hill district, the Agriculture Department under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) distributed rice seeds at Jengkha under the Hamren MAC Constituency here today.
KAAC EM Mongalsing Timung distributed the rice seeds to the identified farmers of the area.
KAAC EM Mongalsing Timung, Hamren VDC chairman Mohan Rongphar, BJP Hamren Mandal Committee president Sarsing Phangcho, staff of the department, gramsevaks and several other party workers from 21 polling stations were present during the rice seed distribution programme. According to the department, a total of 105 kilogram of rice seeds was sanctioned for each polling station.
Later after the rice distribution programme, Baithalangso MLA Rupsing Teron, EM Mongalsing Timung, BJP WKADC president Rodip Ronghang, PHE Board chairman Jowellson Tokbi and several other workers inspected project site where the Amrit Sarovar scheme was executed.
