HAMREN, Aug 04: Local residents of Am-i Langlongchor along with the Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) has called upon the West Karbi Anglong district administration make the existing Am-ih Langlongchora Police Out Post (BOP) for creation of permanent point. In this connection memorandum was submitted to the WKA Deputy Commissioner Krishna Baruah here today in Hamren.
According to the delegation led by KSA secretary Prosanto Engti land ex-KAAC Board Chairman, their demand for setting up of permanent border outpost was genuine and justified stating that the torching down of entry tax gate on April 17, 2023 by miscreant have led to total insecurity and fear psychosis among the local Karbis living in the border areas. The delegation asserted that border outpost at the location would definitely bring back sense of security among the people of Am-ih Langlongchor area.
The Karbi students’ organisation has asserted that the KSA along with the entire population of the twin hills district of Karbi Anglong would never accept the relocation of BOP underlining that the lives of the people and the territorial integrity would never be compromised.
