DIPHU, Aug 05: Golden Woman Athlete Of Karbi Anglong Pokhila Engtipi won three gold medals at the Sanyukta Bhartiya Khel Foundation (SBKF) 8th International Games. The event was held in Dubai, UAE from August 1 to 6 and is an initiative of the SBKF to promote games and sports and was hosted by the Indu Shree Organisation (ISO).
Among the countries participating in the tournament were Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Thailand, Dubai, Philippine, Kenya and Nigeria. Pokhila participated in the athletics category and once again laurels for Karbi Anglong by winning gold medals in 3000m, 200m, and 400m walking races.
It may be mentioned that Pokhila inspired several sports enthusiasts in Karbi Anglong. She has been dedicating herself to promoting athletics among the younger generation and her feats in the national as well as international level competitions will inspire more people to join sports.
