DIPHU, Aug 05: Like several places across the state, the Lok Kalyan Divas was today celebrated in Diphu to mark the death anniversary of Assam’s first Chief Minister Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi. The event was held at Langkung Habe Memorial Town Hall and was organised by the District Administration, Karbi Anglong.
The event began with the lighting of a lamp by Karbi Anglong deputy commissioner Madhumita Bhagowati. She also spoke about the life of the dynamic leader.
The chief guest of the event was KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang. Assam Minister Jogen Mohon, MLA Dorsing Ronghang, MLA Bidyasing Engleng, KAAC EM Amarsing Tisso, Padmashree Dhaneshwar Ingti, and several dignitaries were also present.
On the occasion, two employees were awarded the Lok Sheva Award 2023. Among them were Madhav Rai working as a gardener in the DC’s office Karbi Anglong and Jensing Engleng, an office peon at the office of the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Karbi Anglong.
