Diphu Railway Station to be redeveloped

DIPHU, Aug 06: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of 508 Railway Stations across India under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme through video conferencing. Diphu Railway Station is among those railway stations which will be redeveloped through this scheme.

The foundation stone laying ceremony at Diphu Railway Station was attended by MP Horensing Bey, MLA Darsing Ronghang, MLA Bidya Sing Engleng, KAAC EMs, MACs, and officers from the Northeast Frontier Railway. Students and general public were also invited to take part in the event.

As per the scheme, a total of Rs. 32 crores has been allocated for the redevelopment and upgradation of Diphu Railway Station. The scheme will include works like planned parking facility in enhanced area, better road and dividers in circulating area, water fountain in circulating area, a new 12 metre wide foot over bridge, new escalator and lifts, new lighting in Circulating area, Platform and FOB, high Quality Modern Signage, better quality seating arrangement on Platform & Waiting Halls and modern Train Information System, Coach Guidance System on each Platform.
