TUMPRENG, Aug 08: Rongkhang VDC chairman Khonsing Tokbi today lodged a complaint with Baithalangso police station after a fake account under his name was detected with messages to several people asking for money.
The fake account under his name and photo was created by an unidentified person on Facebook platform and several messages were sent asking for money. On receiving information, the Rongkhang VDC chairman lodged a complaint with the police to track down the scammer responsible for creating fake account.
Addressing media after lodging the complaint, the Rongkhang VDC chairman stated that the complaint was made with the aim of tracking the person involved in the illegal activity and alerting all acquaintances and the general public about these anti-social elements and their activities.
He also urged upon the public for true and good purpose only stressing that social media platforms are also used by people with illegal, criminal and malicious intentions and therefore, users must be on constant alert.
He also urged upon the youth to use Facebook, Instagram and other platforms wisely and with the utmost attention.
