BOKAJAN, Aug 11: In the absence of a proper road, the residents of Amri Rongpi village had to take the task of repairing the road on their own. The village is located about 3 km from NH39 under the Borjan MAC constituency.
The road repair work was led by village headman Purnaraj Giri, local leaders Bhubon Basak, Ashok Chouhan, Krishna Bh. Chetri, Pabitra Devi, Sunita Basak and Rani Beypi. Local people have expressed their displeasure over the failure of authorities to provide them with good roads.
The village was formed sometime around 1942 and had completed about 81 years of existence. There are more than 60 houses in the village and families are from different communities. Villagers have appealed to the KAAC to provide them with good roads and proper drinking water facilities.
