77th Indian Independence Day celebrated at Chokihola PS

KOILAMATI, Aug 16: The country’s Independence Day programme at the Chokihola Police Station was led by OC Ritupal Senchowa.

The celebration programme commenced at 7 am with the hoisting of the tricolour flag by the Chokihola Police Station OC. This was immediately followed by a rally during which patriotic slogans were chanted on the occasion. At 11 am, tree saplings were also planted in the compound led by Thana president Elison Timung.

A friendly football match was also held between Nilip VDP and Chokihola Thana team during which the VDP team won the match by 2 goals.

Further during the day, the police interacted with the locals calling upon the people for support towards maintaining peace and timely information on any matters pertaining to law and order.
