DIPHU, Aug 16: The Diphu-based group of fitness enthusiasts Heavy Squad in association with the Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) on Tuesday organised the Raise The Bar 2.0, a deadlift event at KPH Taralangso on the occasion of the 77th Indian Independence Day. Youths from all over Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong came to take part in the competition.
Heavy Squad president Mongolsing Ronghang informed TDE that the event was organised as a way to spread awareness against drug addiction and drug abuse. He said that through the competition, his team want to spread the message about the need for good health and physical fitness.
In the male category of the competition, Suman Chetri came out as the winner, while Nima Tashi Lama and Sipson Bey won the 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up titles respectively. In the female category, Neha Bordoloi was the winner, while Gangotri Borah was the 1st runners-up. The winners were given cash prizes along with trophies.
Among the judges were Edward Terang Rongchaicho and Muktikam Hazarika.
