DIPHU, Aug 19: In a tragic incident, a rider was killed on spot after a head-on collision with a Bolero vehicle at 9 KM Diphu-Lumding road here today.
According to cops, the accident took place at around 9 am when a Bajaj City bike with the registration number AS09A2267 collided with a Bolero car with registration number AS309028 coming from the opposite direction killing the biker on the spot. The collision was so intense that the airbag of the Bolero also blown out.
The deceased was identified as Bidyasing Hanse (50), eldest son of Gandhi Hanse, a resident of Rongsajir in the 5km area of the Diphu-Lumding road. He left behind his wife and two children.
Local police were informed and the body was taken to DMCH for autopsy.
At the time this report was filed, police authorities were yet to disclose who was the policeman driving the Bolero and were also yet to inform whether the deceased will be compensated or not and what will action will be taken against the driver involved in the tragic accident.
