KSA-BDC organises awareness on drugs menace

DILLAI, Aug 19: The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) District Committee organised an awareness programme on the drug menace at the Hidipi market under the Borjan constituency here today. The programme was organised by the KSA BDC in collaboration with Amity Foundation Rehabilitation Centre to highlight the menace of narcotic substances and also alcoholism and HIV diseases.

The awareness programme was chaired by KSA -BDC president Raju Engleng and the aim of the programme was acquainted by general secretary Desoi Teron. The meeting was attended, as chief guest, by SGB Wophong Kro, social worker Sing Timung, Amity Foundation authority Bishwajit Singh, peer motivator Rahul Kashyap, service provider Sahil Sonar among others.

Later, speaking to TDE, KSA BDC president Raju Engleng said that the menace of narcotic substances and addiction of liquor consumption is a matter of great concern and therefore, there is a great need to fight against it. He said that it could be only done with the support of the concerned public who needs to remain on constant alert all the time in the greater interest of their children and greater society.
