DIPHU, Sep 01: Under the initiative of the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Diphu, and in collaboration with the Adult Education Department a one-day workshop on Foundational Literary and Numeracy (FLN) was held as a part of the Literacy Week – 2023 celebration at DIET, Diphu. The event was attended by Birensing Engti i/c Dist. Adult Education Officer, DIET principal Kakrai Teronpi, BTC principal Dhonsing Timung, accountant Adult Education Department Chitra Bey and many others.
Through this week-long programme, the aim of the Adult Education Department is to ensure that those persons who have never attended schools should also be given the knowledge to at least be able to put in their signatures. The basic knowledge of reading, writing and arithmetic will be the main focus of the Literacy Week.
APO Sonjay Ronghang, many officers from DIET, BTC and Adult Education Department who were present in the workshop also shared their views and opinions on the New Education Policy (NEP).
