DIPHU, Sep 06: A new Karbi poetry book by young poet Ramen Ingti was released today at the inaugural function held at Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park, Taralangso, Diphu. The book titled “Majopi Aruve Ajo Nehirjir” was released by Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) president Chandrasing Kro.
Speaking on the occasion KCS president Chandrasing Kro spoke about the undeniable importance of literature in the quest of preserving tradition and culture. He also praised the writer Ramen Ingti for his hard work, both in his personal life and in the field of literature.
Among other guests and speakers who attended the programme were Padmashree Dhaneswar Ingti, writers Sar-et Hanse, Hangmiji Hanse, Khogen Ingti and Welsing Hanse. In their address to the gathering, they spoke about the importance of the contribution of youths to promote Karbi literature.
The event was moderated by young poet Longbi Terang. Local GB, TYC president Longmukrang Terang, family members of the writer and many villagers were also present. Young poets Subhash Kiling, Sarbarim Engleng, Atur Bey and Monuj Engti recited poems from the book released today.
It may be mentioned that “Majopi Aruve Ajo Nehirjir” is the second book by Ramen, his earlier book was “Kaike Kilirsengver Ahirjir”. As the day coincided with the death anniversary of his mother, a one-minute commemoration session was also observed to pay homage to her.
