BOKAJAN, Sep 07: A woman was arrested with over 111.8 grams of heroin on September 6 at around 7:30 PM in the evening.
The drugs was recovered after police received information regarding smuggling and selling of narcotics substances by Asma Begum at Bashbari Tilla Basti Lahorijan under Khatkhati Police Station. Accordingly, the matter was informed to ASP Security Karbi Anglong. Quickly, the ASP along with SI (P) Swmdwn Swargiary, ASI Dipak Borah, ASI Bhuban Ch. Barik and available staff carried action.
A raid was carried out at the house of Asma Begum in the presence of independent witnesses and police recovered 17 nos of plastic identical tobacco container containing suspected to be heroin weighing total 111.08 grams including tobacco containers. Accordingly, the recovered suspected narcotics substances were seized packed and sealed in the presence of independent witnesses as well as apprehended.
The apprehended person was the daughter of Abdul Rashid and wife of Late Harinder Sah, a resident of Lahorijan Bashbari PS Khatkhati, Karbi Anglong, Assam. In this regards a case is going to be registered.
Police further informed that the market value of the seized substances would be around 1.2 crore rupees.
