Curtain falls on the 4th annual conference of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Employees Association

DIPHU, Sept 09: The 4th general conference of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Employees Association (KAACEA) concluded here at Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Town hall, Matipung on Saturday. The two day conference started on September 8. A magazine was also released during the event.

The employees of KAAC Secretariat including inherent subjects like Forest, Land & Revenue, Taxation and Primary Education departments have decided to come together for any issues and problems.  The association held its general conference every three years. The election for the new executive committee of KAACEA for the next three year term 2023 -2025 was also held yesterday.

Attending as the chief guest the chief executive member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang has assured of meeting the demands made by KAACEA for KAAC employees.

CEM said, “There are various points mentioned in the memorandum submitted by KAACEA and it will be done. You have mentioned of releasing pending gratuity and leave enhancement to KAAC employees. As there are funds in KAAC, this will be released.”

About the pension (retirement) benefits of KAAC employees, the CEM said a committee has been formed to work on it. “If the employees of State government are getting retirement benefits, why not the KAAC employees?” the CEM stated and said that the KAAC employees will also get retirement benefits as per the employees of State government. Service rule of KAAC employees will also be prepared, the CEM said. In Council Provident Fund (CPF) for KAAC employees and enhancement of 8% will made.

He also said that appointments for Beat Officer, Forester –I Ranger and Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) will be made under the Forest department under KAAC sector.

 In the Executive Committee (EC) meeting, a resolution has been adopted for promotion of ACF to Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) and Conservator of Forests (CF).  

As demanded by KAACEA,  discussion for allotment of land for office building of KAACEA and in 2024-25 budget will be held in the next EC meeting and will include the construction of the office building as well.

CEM Ronghang finally urged to extend collective support of KAAC employees as it is part of ‘Team Karbi Anglong’ for delivering maximum service to people and for development of Karbi Anglong.

President, KAACEA, Sarthe Dera said election to 33 executive member of KAACEA was held yesterday. For the post of president, vice presidents, general secretary, secretaries and other posts will be selected during the first executive committee meeting. It is for a three year term 2023 to 2025. Dera also said the KAACEA is hopeful that whatever assurance made by the CEM will be fulfilled.

MLAs Dorsing Ronghang and Bidyasing Engleng; Executive Member (EM)s, KAAC and Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) and retired Joint Secretary, KAAC and padmashree Dhaneswar Engti and others were present during the event.
