DILLAI, Sept 14: A general meeting was organized today on the forthcoming 31st Zonal Karbi Youth Festival by the Borjan KCS Zone at Hidipi community hall.
The meeting was presided over by the Borjan KCS committee president Janasing Teron and the objective of the meeting was highlighted by Janasing Tokbi.
Following this, the community discussed on several agenda, including the zonal festival venue. It was decided unanimously that it it will take place at Rongthelu. A reception committee was also formed during the meeting, wherein Sonaram Singnar and On Teron were chosen to serve as its president and secretary, respectively. The remaining committee members were to be chosen at the following meeting, which was scheduled to be held in Rongthelu.
KAAC EM and local MAC Surjya Rongphar who attended the meeting as chief guest suggested that they should work together to ensure the successful celebration of 31st ZKYF as well as the 50th KYF. “The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will attend the KYF Golden Jubilee Celebration as the event’s chief guest and international ambassador, hence it is important that sufficient planning be done for that occasion,” he concluded.
Janasing Teron, president of the Borjan cultural community, gave a word of encouragement at the meeting’s conclusion.
KAAC EM Surjya Rongphar was joined by VDC chairman Sonaram Singnar, KCS executive member Kamalsing Bey, writer On Teron, social organisations, Borjan KCS zone workers and others.
