BOKAJAN, Sep 22: The Borpathar police today recovered 300 bags of Urea fertilizer that were illegally being transported along the NH39. The fertilizer bags were recovered from a truck during a regular check conducted by the Borpathar Police Station’s police personnel at Khakrajan at around 9 AM in the morning today.

The truck apprehended had the registration number AS 03 BC 8888 coming from Tuli and going to Dimapur. When the truck reached Khakrajan, police asked for legal documents about the things it carried. However, the truckers did not have proper documents and this compelled police to conduct a search on the truck.

Police unloaded all the packets in the truck and on the upper layer, they found 100 bags of wheat flour (maida), which was used to conceal the 300 bags of Urea in the lower layers. As the truckers were not able to produce the permits to carry the materials, both the truck and the two people in it were taken into police custody.

The two apprehended persons included Ranhan Bhuyan (20), son of Suhash Bhuyan of Titabor, Assam and Rokib Ali (27), son of Arshad Ali of Mukokchong, Nagaland. At the time this report was filed, police were interrogating the two in order to get more details about the illegal supply of fertilizers.
