Karbi Anglong girls to participate in final trial for Junior Girls National Football Championship

DIPHU, Sep 24: Two girls from Karbi Anglong have been selected for the final trial to represent Assam at the Junior Girls National Football Championship 2023-24 to be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. will be held in Bhubaneswar.
The first among the two girls is Rupjili Rongpharpi, daughter of Kaban Ingtipi of Taralangso, Diphu and a student of Class XI at Don Bosco College, Diphu. She plays in the position of Side Back. The second girl is Serbirika Terangpi, daughter of Rajen Terang of Desai Rongpi village Doldoli. She passed her HSLC from Longnit’s KGVB and is currently studying in HS 1st Year Arts in Diphu Govt. Boys’ HS School. Serbirika plays in the Forward position. Both the girls are students of the KASA FCC, Diphu.
The first round of the selection was held at KASA Stadium on 28th August for the C zone of Assam Football Association comprising Karbi Anglong, Morigaon, Hojai, West Karbi Anglong, Nagaon, Titabor. 5 girls from Karbi Anglong were selected in the first round and were invited for another round of trial held at Sonapur LNPE Physical Education Centre, Ghy on 11th September, where three girls from Karbi Anglong were dropped.
Rupjili and Serbirika left Diphu today for Kokrajhar Main Camp. All together 33 players from across the state are taking part in the final trial.
