DIPHU, Sep 27: Under the initiative of the Department of Tourism, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, the World Tourism Day was celebrated in Diphu. With the theme “Tourism and Green Investment” the event was celebrated in Nothengpi, KPH Taralangso.
The celebration began in the morning with a cycle expedition which was flagged off by MP Horensing Bey. Several dignitaries including EM Amarsing Tisso also participated in the cycle expedition.
In the evening, the event continued with a ‘Treasure Hunt’ game among students of different schools and colleges. This was followed by a tongue twister competition.
The main session of the event was a penal discussion and tourism talks which was graced by eminent environmentalists and activists from across the country.
