DOLAMARA, Oct 01: TheBokakhat Karbi Student Association (BKSA) held its 5th edition of the social Karbi students’ freshers meet and annual get together programme today at the Natya Mandir auditorium hall in Bokaghat with the theme “gain knowledge and interact with the world.”
The event was attended by KSA CEC Mirjeng Kro, Barnabas Kiling, Golaghat KSA, VDC chairman Sarkoi Rongphar, Dolamara MB Chairman Mongolsing Terang, KCS secretary Robinson Rongphar and Assam University Diphu Campus students union (AUDCSU) members.
Education Board Chairman George Rongpi served as the event’s chief guest in place of Education EM Richard Tokbi. He continued his remarks by expanding on Allan Bloom’s quote “Education is a movement from darkness to light.” Later, he advised the students to maintain excellent morals during their salad days because they are the future of tomorrow.
Mirjeng Kro, President of KSA CEC, spoke on importance of great education. He also stated that obtaining a diploma is worthless because Artificial Intelligence (AI) has supplanted human abilities. “However, pupils are more engaged in social media and making reels, which is a sign of neglect,” he continued.
The students also presented a special item, including Lengpum sokchon and Ritnongchingdi, as part of the celebration. This is followed by a night programme that begins at 4 p.m. this evening, with Chingbai Tisso and Prosenjit Kiling as invited artists.
It should be emphasised that BKSA, which was created in 2017, stands for the Karbi students’ youth and strives to build a unit for easier communication and support in times of need. In this regard, the BKSA fresher’s meet was conducted for the first time in 2019.
