DIPHU, Dec 05: Khel Maharan for Diphu LAC concluded today at Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium. The Khel Maharan was organised under the initiative of the Government of Assam to promote sports culture in rural areas and to provide a platform for young talented sports persons to exhibit their talent.
The four-day sports extravaganza is organised by the District Administration and assisted by District Sports Officer (DSO). The winning teams and athletes in the Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) constituency level held earlier have competed at the LAC level. The events of competitions include athletics, khokho, kabaddi, volleyball and football for under-19 and above-19 for both boys and girls categories and were played at two venues – KASA stadium and Diphu Govt. Boys HS school playground.
On the concluding day today, the football final matches for under-19 and above-19 boys were played here at KASA stadium. In under-19 boys Langhin was the champions and Lumbajong runners up, while in above-19 boys Langpher was champion and Dhansiri the runners-up.
Later in the evening prize distribution function was held at KASA stadium. District Sports Officer (DSO), Relip Ronghang said the winning teams and athletes in the MAC level have competed in the LAC level here. Those winning at the LAC level will again compete in the district level to be held in January 2024.
The prize distribution function was attended by KASA general secretary Dr. Pankaj Teron, football secretary Horen Ingti Kathar, badminton secretary Kensing Engti, KASA referee board chairman Sudangshi Ranjan Das, athletic secretary Rajen Rongpi, khokho secretary Sarat Pator and other KASA officials.
In the under019 boys in 100 metre race the first position was won by Swndwn Basumatary of Lumbajong, second Ruhan by Swargiary of Langhin and third by Ankur Nunisa of Dhansiri. In 400 metre race first position was bagged by Erisim Taro of Lumbajong, second by Sarbong Rongpi of Langhin, and third by Rahul Keot of Lumbajong. In 200 metres race the first position was bagged by Swndwn Basumatary of Lumbajong, second position by Erisim Taro (Lumbajong) and third position Ankur Nunisa (Dhansiri). In the 800-metre race first position Harata Engti, second position Sarkiri Rongpi and third Sarchehon Kro of Lumbajong.
In the above-19 age category boys 800-metre race Anand Das (1st) of Langpher, Sonu Rajbhar (2nd) and Surajit Gayan (3rd) of Lumbajong were the winners. In 200 metre race first position Littule Das of Lumbajong, second position Uttam Das of Langpher, and third position Diring Hasnu of Dhansiri. In 400 metre race first position Anand Das of Langpher, second position Bijoy Chetri of Lumbajong, and third by Sikaro Baglary of Langhin. In 100 metre race first position Littule Das of Lumbajong, second position Anupam Pator of Langhin, and third position Diring Hasnu of Dhansiri.
In the Under-19 girls 100 metre race first position Samika Ronghangpi of Dhansiri, second position Priya Koch of Lumbajong and third position Samairani Basumatary of Langhin. In 400-metre race first position Lakshmi Beypi of Dhansiri, the second position was Larlyn Timungpi and third Riya Keot of Lumbajong. In 200 metre race first position Samika Ronghangpi of Dhansiri, second position Samairani Basumatary of Langhin and third position Priya Koch of Lumbajong. In the 800 metre race first position Lakshmi Beypi of Dhansiri, second position Larlyn Timungpi and third place was won by Riya Keot of Lumbajong.
In the above 19 age category girls in 100-metre race first position Mohima Boro and second position Anjali Boro of Langhin respectively and third position Momota Porbotsa of Langpher. In 400 metre race first position Kajir Millikpi of Lumbajong, the second position Neha Boro of Langpher and Anamika Devi of Lumbajong. In 800-metre race first position Kajir Millikpi, second position Lijir Engtipi and third position Rubina Teronpi of Lumbajong. While in 200-metre race first position Mohima Boro and second position Anjali Boro of Langhin respectively and Lijir Engtipi of Lumbajong.
In Volleyball Under -19 boys Lumbajong bagged championship and Langhin bagged runners up, while in above -19 boys Langhin championship and Lumbajong bagged the runners up. In Volleyball Under-19 girls Dhansiri bagged the championship, in above 19 girls category Lumbajong and Langpher were the runners up.
In the Kabaddi event for under-19 boys Langhin won over Langpher to become the champions. In above-19 boys Langhin MAC constituency bagged championship and Dhansiri MAC constituency bagged runners-up. In Kabadi U-19 girls Langhin bagged the championship by defeating Lumbajong.
In football, for Under -19 boys Langhin bagged championship and Lumbajong as runners up. In football for Under–19 girls Lumbajong bagged the championship and Langhin MAC constituency as runners up.
