DIPHU, Dec 06: Under the initiative of the KSA Diphu Regional Committee, an educational foundation named ‘My Dream Foundation’ was formally inaugurated on Tuesday at Donmarly Restaurant, Taralangso. The foundation has been formed to assist poor students in their studies. The theme song of the foundation has been written by lyricist and poet Longbir Terang and sung by Chingbai Tisso.
“Many Karbi students were forced to give-up on their studies and dreams due to poverty. Our foundation will work to help a few such students by providing needful financial aids to enable them acquire all basic materials needed for studies,” said KSA Diphu Regional Committee president Litonsing Timung.
“To begin with, we will sponsor one boy and one girl up to the university level. We will soon conduct a selection test for this purpose” he added.
“Only students whose parents do not have govt. jobs, and are studying in govt. run schools are eligible to appear on the test,” he concluded.
Former KSA president Thangsing Timung lauded the initiative for Diphu RC. He said that it is far better to begin acting than simply speaking and the present work of the RC is truly inspirational.
