DIPHU, Nov 07: All houses sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme in 2016 for the beneficiaries have to be completed within December 2023. This was informed by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) during a press conference convened here in Diphu today.
The press conference led by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Secretary Dilip Terang was held at the DRDA Project Director office in Diphu. Addressing media, Secretary Dilip Terang informed that altogether 19,49,430 houses were sanctioned in the state out of which 16,04,677 houses have been completed. In addition to this, another 12,00,369 houses were sanctioned in the past 30 months out of which 3,44,753 have been completed, he informed.
Giving details about the schemes in the twin hills districts of Karbi Anglong, the KAAC secretary stated that altogether 32,346 houses were sanctioned in 2016 for Karbi Anglong out of which 26,333 houses have been fully completed. On the other hand, altogether 15,697 houses were sanctioned in 2016 for the West Karbi Anglong district out of which 11,249 houses have been completed. According to official data, 81 percent of houses have been completed in Karbi Anglong while 72 percent were completed in West Karbi Anglong district by 2023.
The KAAC secretary informed that all the houses have to be completed within December 2023 and that strict directions have been issued by the government to ensure its full implementation and success.
