DIPHU, Dec 08: The Karbi Farmers Association (KFA) today conducted a silkworm seeds distribution programme at Sericulture I.B. in Den Arong, Karbi Anglong. The programme was attended by KFA president Tinku Engt, general secretary Soronsing Rongpi, Dokmoka Head Branch president Chong Teron, VP Sonsing Bey, Den Arong president Sunil Terang and and secretary Topan Killing.
In the event, the participants were given awareness about the ways to rear silkworms. They were also told about how and where to sell their products. The KFA leaders urged the farmers to make silk-worm rearing a major occupation and dedicate more time into it to earn more profit.
More than 50 participants from the local areas who came for the programme were given seeds.
