DIPHU, Jul 20: The Paite community in Diphu came together to celebrate Huanhai Thakni, their traditional summer harvest thanksgiving event, at EBC Church, Rongmili 6.
The celebration began at 11:00 a.m., bringing together church members, elders, and youth in a vibrant spirit of gratitude and unity.
Huanhai Thakni is a significant occasion among the Paite Mizo people, marked by offering the first fruits of the harvest to God. Families presented freshly gathered produce—such as fruits, grains, and vegetables—as a token of thanksgiving for the blessings of the season.
The message for the occasion was delivered by area Pastor Vungmuanlal.
Huanhai Thakni continues to serve as both a spiritual offering and a rich cultural expression, preserving the Paite community’s agricultural roots and shared identity.
